I am an organic geochemist and geobiologist studying past and present interactions of microbial life with geochemical cycles and climate from a molecular perspective. My main tools are lipid and co-factor analyses via high-resolution mass spectrometry (lipidomics), compound-specific stable isotope analysis, experimental microbiology, and phylogenetic and biochemical analyses.
